Crisis Support Training
Lifeline’s volunteers give their time, energy and expertise generously to achieve our Vision of an ‘Australia free of suicide’, so that no person has to face their toughest moments alone. Lifeline South Coast is truly grateful for the support of our volunteers, who help us achieve our Vision.
How to become a volunteer
To become a telephone volunteer crisis supporter for Lifeline’s 24-hour Crisis Support service – 13 11 14 – you’ll need to undertake extensive training, make a commitment to shifts, and meet further selection criteria. This is to ensure you’ll be confident, skilled, and able to provide support to Lifeline’s callers in their time of emotional distress and crisis.
Our Telephone Crisis Supporter Workplace Training (CSWT) is a Nationally Recognised Training program delivered on behalf of Lifeline Australia (RTO 88036). We will offer a number of training courses in 2023. A compulsory information night for each course will be held in Wollongong. You must attend the information night to be eligible to apply.
This is a very rewarding volunteer opportunity.
