Financial Counselling

Lifeline South Coast Financial Counselling Service is a free, personal, professional and confidential service catering for the people of the South Coast.

The impact of financial stress

Financial stress occurs when expenses and debts build that you are unable to pay. Situations that might cause financial stress include losing your job, being long term unemployed, relationship breakdowns, impacted by illness or not being able to deal with the increasing costs of living.

Financial stress can significantly impact your health and your relationships with others. For some people, the financial pressures of life may seem impossible to overcome, but there is help and support available to you.

Our Financial Counsellors can help you to explore your financial options, provide advocacy and support when dealing with creditors and help with personal and family budgeting.

Here are some key signs to watch out for

Actions: withdrawing from people, increased use of alcohol or drugs, sudden changes in behaviour, difficulty sleeping.

Emotions: angry, fearful, worried, anxious, mood swings, tiredness, feelings of guilt about spending money on non-essentials.

Whatever the cause, we’re here to help you find a solution…

Lifeline South Coast has expert financial counsellors who are trained to help you understand your situation and find a way forward. Our service is a free, personal, and confidential service for the people of the South Coast.

Education is a key part of what we do: we help you to explore your financial options, we can help you to manage your budgets now and long term and provide advocacy and support when dealing with creditors.

“I would recommend Lifeline South Coast Financial Counselling Service to anyone as they were such a fantastic help to me when I needed it and helped improve my financial situation considerably.”
