QPR

QPR is available in a face-to-face format as well as an online version

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognise the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.

QPR training will provide you with:

  • knowledge and skills to identify warning signs that someone may be suicidal
  • confidence to talk to them about suicidal thoughts
  • connect them with professional care

Lifeline South Coast offers a range of options for people wanting to train in QPR. Details of the next available training dates in both the Illawarra and Shoalhaven are listed below. Or we can arrange to come to your workplace to train larger groups.

Please get in touch with us if you'd like to discuss your training needs - training@llsc.org.au

Face-to-face format

Lifeline South Coast delivers QPR face-to-face in a 2.5 hour session which includes instruction in the Question, Persuade, Refer steps; a workbook and resource sheet; role plays to practice your skills and a certificate on completion. All Lifeline South Coast QPR sessions have a support person present to help anyone who may find the training upsetting.
